MABLABs Mural Project Call
The Department of Cognitive Science is starting something exciting-- we are going to be beautifying the MABLABs (Mind And Brain Labs) space by launching a community arts project. The goal is to create a mural on one of the external walls that faces the pool (pictured below). This is your space, so we are hoping you'll want to get involved either by having one of your designs be featured or by being a student leader on the project! We are hoping to create the final painting sometime early to mid Spring semester and to have extensive community involvement in the painting process (that means, even if you aren't the designer, we hope you'll help execute the vision by coming to help paint)!
Ways to get involved:
Submit a Sketch: We're looking for design proposals! Proposed designs should explore a theme in cognitive science. There aren't exact wall dimensions yet, but you'll want your design to fit onto the wall (pictured below) and be scalable. Include a short description of your concept and anything else you want us to know. In submitting your design, please also overlay it onto the wall so we can see your vision. Note that we may combine designs as well, so your design need not cover the entire space.
Let us know if you want to volunteer to be a student participant on the project in another capacity (e.g. by being on the committee choosing between designs, organizing logistics with Facilities, facilitating materials logistics, etc) -- and tell us about what you want to do in this role and why!
to indicate your interest and/or to submit a sketch. We will start reviewing proposals on October 9th!!!
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
